You will soon find that there are several modes within Swordplay. First, there’s the one-on-one Duel mode is amazingly fast and is sure to give you a good laugh. Speed Slice requires you to cut through random items like tree stumps and watermelons that appear in front of players. You have to cut through them in the indicated direction before your opponent wins the coveted point.

The other mode is the showdown, which is what the game is all about. There are ten levels to complete, each getting progressively difficult as you add enemies to your list and with the final boss as your ultimate foe. If you get excited, just thwack them in the face while you shout out and taunt them further. Of course, the shouting doesn’t do anything, but it surely adds to the fun.

If swordplay isn’t your thing, there’s also table tennis. It may not be as violent, but it is equally as visceral. The game is able to demonstrate just how well the Wii MotionPlus works. The bat can mimic your every move and the ball does everything you want. Beginners hit the ball just to survive but as you get used to the movements involved, you will get to learn the mechanics of the game. You can even put a spin on the ball and earn top marks, thus increasing your score faster.

Archery is just as superb because it gets you moving just like you’re doing the sport. Just hold the remote vertically towards the screen as if it were the bow. Then, you grip the Z trigger on the Nunchuk in your other hand, firing the string as you release the Z.
